597,122. Belt gearing. HARRIS, C. S., and GOLD, B. Aug. 10, 1945, No. 20564. [Class 80(i)] [Also in Group XXXV] For tensioning a driving belt a motor 5 carrying a driving pulley 5a is adjustably mounted above a driven pulley 3a by means of a single screw device comprising screwed rods 8, 9 freely mounted in bearings 10, 12 in the motor platform 6, and in a saddle 13 on a bearing housing 2 carried by a base 1, respectively. Rods 14 on the base 1 slide in sleeves 16 on the motor platform to act as guides. Alternatively the parts 8, 16 may be connected to the base 1, and the parts 9, 14 to the platform 6.
