Abstract

903,542. Reciprocating pumps. DELLER, A. W. Oct. 20, 1958 [Oct. 21, 1957], No. 33434/58. Class 102(1). A reciprocating pump of the type in which pairs of pistons reciprocate in a common cylinder, as described in Specification 903,543, one piston of each pair is driven by a shaft 3 while the other pistons of each pair is driven by a shaft 6. The shaft 3 is driven from a motor and drives the shaft 6 through an endless chain 5 which passes over sprockets 4, 4a secured to the shafts, idler sprockets 31a, 31b, 31c, 31d, rotatable on fixed shafts, and sprockets 32a, 32b mounted on shafts carried by an adjustable slider 33a, 33b. Adjustment of the slider by a screw 38 or by suitable hydraulic apparatus varies the phase relationship between the shafts 3, 6 and hence the pump delivery. Specification 508,703 also is referred to.
