Abstract
651,040. Railway vehicle undercarriages. DEHN, S. G. (General Steel Castings Corporation). Aug. 3, 1948, No. 20505. [Class 103(vi)] A railway truck having wheeled axles comprises equalizers 3 at each side of the truck extending between and supported from the axles, with a rigid frame spring- supported on the equalizers and comprising wheel pieces 6 and transverse transoms 8, and a bolster 10 having downwardly facing portions 11 supported by a pad of rubber-like material 16 from the transverse transoms 8 the pad 16 being constructed to distort in shear for transverse relative movement between the bolster 10 and truck frame. The pads 16 may be of the sandwich type and may extend to the vertical faces of engagement of the bolster and transom.
