Abstract

660,855. Railway undercarriage side frames. BUFFALO BRAKE BEAM CO. April 5, 1949. [Oct. 1, 1948] No. 9251/49. Class 103(vi). To protect railway car truck side members or frames from wear by brake beams mounted thereon, a wear plate 22 is provided of springy material preferably steel, and is held in place by means of projections 28 engaging holes 35 in the side frame members. The plate 28 is made so that its two sides 23, 24 are slightly divergent when free, thus enabling the plate after its sides have been pressed together to be secured in recesses of slightly varying width.
