Abstract

437,834. Track brakes. E.M.B. CO., Ltd., CADBURY, G. N., and SMITH, S., Moor Street, West Bromwich, Staffordshire. July 14, 1934, No. 20710. [Class 103 (i)] In order to maintain the blocks of an electromagnetic track brake for railway &c. vehicles at a fixed height above the rail surface irrespective of the deflection of the vehicle springs, the brake blocks c at each side of the bogie are attached to a bar d which is suspended by springs e from brackets b supported upon the axle-boxes, while a crossbar f connects the blocks on opposite sides. The blocks may be guided vertically by means of a bar g depending from the side-bars of the bogie frame.
