Abstract

263,104. Swiss Locomotive & Machine Works. Dec. 21, 1925, [Convention date]. Bogies.-In a bogie for rail vehicles comprising a driving axle and a running axle, the running axle is arranged to be capable of moving relatively to the frame of the bogie in the manner of an Adams axle or a Bissel truck. The bogie frame 3 is pivoted at 4 to the vehicle frame and supports the vehicle 6 by means of a pin 7 capable of sliding laterally on the bogie frame. The axle of the running wheels 2 is journaled in a double axle box 8, Fig. 2, which slides in curved guides 9 fixed in the bogie, the axle radiating about a centre 10 in the manner of an Adams axle and the axle of the driving wheels 1 is mounted in the bogie to have a limited lateral play. The pin 7 is centred by springs 11, Fig. 1, and the axle of the running wheels by similar springs under the axle. In Fig. 4, the axle of the running wheels' 2 is mounted in the manner of a Bissel truck about a pivot 14 on the frame 3 of the bogies and is centralized by springs 15.
