Abstract

650,282. Clamps. HERSCOVITCH, W. May 26, 1948, No. 14244. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1946. [Class 61 (ii)] A G-clamp particularly for gripping objects with inclined surfaces comprises a main L-shaped frame member 3 having at one end a platform 2 and a supplementary L-shaped frame member 6 one end of which is pivoted at 6 to the elbow of the member 3 the other end being provided with an internally threaded boss 9 fitted with a clamping screw 14 having a ball jointed foot 15. The member 6 is angularly adjusted by rotation of the screw 11 in a threaded boss 4 at the end of the vertical arm of member 3, the end of the screw bearing on the surface 10 of the member 6. A positive connection may be provided between the surface 10 and the screw. The positions of the platform and clamping screw may be interchanged.
