Abstract

645,097. Screw clamps. WALLENIUS, T. J. H. May 27, 1948, No. 14354. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 28, 1948.]. [Class 44] [Also in Group XIV] Screw - operated clamping arms 1 are provided with pivoted shoes 2 with smooth gripping faces which can be turned to inoperative position to present spikes 9 to penetrate the article to be gripped. The spikes may be on the backs of the shoes or on the shoe axles 3. The arms 1 are retracted by a screw 5 with an operating ,head 6 and bear against fulcrum rollers 8 on a sleeve 7. The outer end of the device has a ball and socket head with an angularly adjustable stem secured by a clamping nut 17 and provided with a screw 15 for attachment of a camera or other apparatus.
