Abstract

647,752. Pressure gauges. PARNALL (YATE), Ltd. Dec. 9, 1948, No. 31874. [Class 40 (iii)] The differential pressure manometer of Specification 622,722, [Group XIX], is modified to give photo-electric indications. The manometer comprises pressure bells suspended from a beam 1 mounted on a beryllium-copper torsion strip 2. An opaque disc 4, carried by an arm 5 dependent from the beam 1, is interposed between a lamp 6 and a photo-cell 7 which may be connected in any suitable indicating or recording circuit. Alternatively the disc 4 may be replaced by a glass plate of varying optical density. The pressure range may be increased by reducing the effective twisting length of the strip 2.
