Abstract
729,087. Linear-dimension gauges. SANDVIKENS JERNVERKS AKTIEBOLAG. Feb. 9, 1953 [Feb. 9, 1952], No. 3601/53. Class 106 (2). A measuring device for indicating deviations in the distance between the surface of a moving or rotating body 18 and a head 15 spaced from said body, comprises at least one member 2 adapted to be influenced in accordance with a certain range of frequencies of said deviations, and at least one other member 3 adapted to be influenced in accordance with another range of frequencies of said deviations, the members 2 and 3 being coupled together in a manner such that the values that would be indicated by them are subtracted or added together. As illustrated, when the object 18 is revolved, a varying degree of throttling is set up across the escape aperture of the head 15 which in turn sets up a freely varying pressure in the bellows 2. In the bellows 3, however, an. almost constant pressure is maintained on account of the restricted passage 17. A lever 4, pivoted substantially at its centre, couples the bellows 2 and 3 and, in consequence, the pointer 6 is only responsive to the variations of the terms with a higher frequency. Adjustable electrical contacts may co-operate with the pointer 6 to indicate when tolerance limits are exceeded.
