653,874. Weighing apparatus. DEHN, S. G. (Robson Corporation). Aug. 3, 1948, No. 20504. [Class 143] A weighing scoop comprises a hollow handle 10 secured to a channel member 30, a scoop 22 secured to a channel member 146, links 38, 40 connecting the channel members to form a parallelogram linkage, a load counterbalancing spring 34 secured to a plug 18 which is adjustably mounted in the handle and a finger 36 secured at one end to the link 38 and at the other to spring 34, said finger being of such length that the spring is extended substantially at right angles to the channel members during weighing movement. An indicating pointer 82 co-operating with a scale 78 secured to the channel 30 is secured to a spindle 84 which also carries an arm 92 pressed into constant engagement with the link 40 by a spring 96 so that said arm, and consequently said pointer, follow the movements of the link 40 during weighing.
