Class 143 [Also in Group XVII] A spring balance for gauging the contents of a kettle or the like comprises a guide 4, a telescopic handle 5 by which the kettle is carried, and an indicator 12 supported between legs 6, 7 of the handle, the handle 5 having a pin 10 carrying a spring 8 the lower end of which is secured to a pin 9 fixed to the guide 4. The guide 4 may be connected to a fixed kettle handle, Fig. 6 (not shown).
