Abstract
662,455. Switch contacts. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T. Feb. 9, 1950. [Feb. 9, 1949] No. 3496/49. Class 38 (v). [Also in Group XVIII] A contact device for use with the indicator of a weighing scale, and in particular the indicator of an automatic feed weigher, comprises a flexible wire strip 7 secured at one end to a screwed plug 18 in a tube 6 and resting in a V-notch 8 in a second plug 9 screwed into the tube at the other end, which tube has gaps 10 through which the wire 7 makes contact with wire loops 13, protruding from the periphery of discs 12, when the indicating arm 5 and tube 6 are rotated about an axis 19. The discs 12 are each secured to a handle 16 through a sleeve 15 so that the angular position of the loops 13 can be adjusted to correspond with any weight position of the indicator and friction pads 17 hold the handles in the adjusted position. The amount of protuberance of loops 13 is adjustable by screws 14. When applied to an automatic feed weigher the contact made with the three discs successively effect dribble feed, cut off and resetting for the next cycle.
