Abstract

644,443. Mounting lighting dynamos on cycles. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., GOLDSCHMIDT, R., and WOOD, A. E. Oct. 29, 1947, Nos. 28823, 28825 and 28826. [Class 136 (i)] [Also in Group XXXV] The tyre driven dynamo of a cycle is incorporated in the steering stem of the machine, with the axis of the rotor oblique to the axis of the stem. As shown the dynamo has a rotary magnet 91 and an armature winding 101 disposed between arcuate pole pieces 87, 89 and the yoke tube 83 which is slidable in the enlarged end of the steering head 85, the dynamo being lifted from the tyre against pressure of spring 105 by a device not shown. The magnet may be stationary and the armature rotary.
