Abstract

637,701. Pulley hoists. COLUMBUS McKINNON CHAIN CORPORATION. Feb. 17, 1948, No. 4657. Convention date, Aug. 9, 1947. [Class 78 (v)] In a suspended standard hoist or puller of the kind in which the capacity is increased by attaching to it a bracket supporting pulley tackle, the bracket is inserted in a recess which is near the top of the casing containing the hoisting mechanism. The recess 13 extends across the casing 10 and its top has an aperture 14 to receive the shank 15 of the suspension hook 16 when used as a single reeving hoist. The bracket 21 has a threaded opening 23 to receive the bolt 24 by which it is secured to the casing. A bushing 25 is inserted in the aperture 14 when the diameter of the bolt is less than that of the shank of the hook. The outer end of the bracket has an opening 34 to receive the shank 15 when the hoist is used as a double reeving one. The chain 33 is secured by a pin 31 to the bifurcated end 30 of the bracket.
