[Class 78 (iv)] A grab . for lifting plates comprises a jaw 20 to the shorter arm 20<2> of which is pivoted a two-sided lever 24 having teeth 27 which grip the plate 22. The longer arm 201 of the jaw 20 may be serrated where it supports the plate 22. A suspension shackle 25 is pivoted to the outer end of the lever 24. Two or more jaws may be employed to lift a plate, and the teeth 27 may be dis. posed within the slot of the jaw or outside same. A pin 29 limits the swing of the lever 24, and a hole 28 can receive a control rope.
