Abstract

364,692. Rope grips. MAGEE, J., 14, Radnor Place, Birkenhead. Oct. 14, 1930, No. 30663. [Class 78 (ii).] A removable grip for temporarily securing wire ropes such as the hoisting ropes of derricks comprises a pair of arms 1a, 1b pivoted together at 2 and carrying at one end gripping jaws 9a, 9b adapted to overlap on the rope, means being provided to hold the'other ends of the' arms together and to a fixed point. These ends may accordingly be formed with eyes 6 to receive a lanyard. The jaw 9b may be bifurcated so that the jaw 9a may move between its elements and overlap them as at 16. Specification 343,560 is referred to.
