Abstract

751,023. Hoist frames. COLUMBUS McKINNON CHAIN CORPORATION. Jan. 21, 1954, No. 1901/54. Class 78 (5). A pulley block comprises a pair of main frame members 10, 12 detachably connected to provide a single main frame assembly said frame members having opposed end wall portions which are recessed to accommodate the ends of a hoist suspension device 50 and an anchor device 42 for anchoring the dead end of the lift chain. As shown, bolts 18 secure together frame members 10, 12 so that the matching faces embrace between them load-wheel 33, anchor bolt 42, two-piece chain guide 44 and support hook 50, the motor and brake mechanism being installed in the respective frame members. For conversion from a single-reeve to a double reeve block, the frame members are provided with mating recesses for insertion of a second anchor bolt and also for a second position for the support hook. Cable may be used in place of chain. Specification 751,025 is referred to.
