637,062. Caps for fuel tanks. WESTWOOD RIM & PATENTS, Ltd., WESTWOOD, S. C., and WESTWOOD, N. F. April 20, 1948, No. 10872. [Class 125(iii)] [Also in Group XXII] A metal cap or cover, to be applied to a fuel tank, comprises a pair of circular dished elements nested one within the other, the edge of the inner dished element c being serrated and the edge of the outer element a being forced on to said serrations e to prevent relative rotation of the elements. The inner dished element is formed with an outwardly extending rim which after serration is displaced into a vertical position. The edge f of the element a is forced against serrations e by a rolling or spinning operation. The inner element may have fittings, such as a hinge, a securing clip, a sealing member or the like, secured to it. The side wall of the element a may be provided with a knurled portion b.
