Abstract
637,076. Closures for containers. WESTWOOD RIM & PATENTS, Ltd., WESTWOOD, S. C., and WESTWOOD, N. F. May 31,1948, No. 14638. [Class 125(iii)] A closure cap, for a fuel tank, comprises inner and outer sheet metal parts b, a, the wall of the inner part being bent to form a shoulder, at f, to retain the sealing ring e. The edge c of the outer part is bent over the edge of the inner flange. Separate indentations may be formed on the inner part in place of the continuous indentation f. Separate or continuous indentations may be formed around a boss d on the inner part, or indentations may be formed on both the inner and outer walls of the part b. In an alternative form the inner part b is only deep enough to form a shoulder f, the flange of the outer part being bent over the shoulder f.
