Abstract

688,534. Pouring spouts for liquid-containers. RIEKE, I. H. March 8, 1949, No 6250/49. Class 66 A flexible tamperproof pouring spoul which can be telescopically disposed within liquid-containers comprises a tubular outer portion 24 united to and nestable in a frustro - conically shaped larger inner portion 23. The latter carries a sealing flange 27 which is clamped in a beaded, flanged, opening 13 by a U- shaped ring 19. The opening 13 may be in any face of the container. A plug 28, weakened at 29 for removal closes the outer end of the spout which may also carry a screw-on cap 32. A spout -constraining cover 35 to 39 is spring- urged against a curved inner face 18 of the ring 19 and may be removed by tearing out the semisevered portion 36. In an alternative construction a tear-away seal is provided at the junction of parts 23, 24, a friction fit cap is fitted within the end of the spout, and a spout-constraining cover has spaced peripheral projections for breach-lock engagement with corresponding projections on the inner flange of the sealing-ring.
