Abstract

635,619. Electric resonators. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Feb. 21, 1947, No. 5209. Convention date, Feb. 26, 1946. [Class 40 (viii)] A coaxial line resonator 1 and 3 includes a tuning piston 7 having an aperture 9 therein, and a coupling element 19 extends into the resonator and through this aperture, adjustment of the piston thus simultaneously varying in opposite senses the resonant frequency of the resonator and the coupling coefficient of the element. The coupling element may be formed of varying width along its length in order that the variation of coupling with movement of the piston may follow a predetermined law. Specification 635,774 is referred to.
