Abstract

660,306. Electric resonators. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. April 5, 1949 [April 14, 1948], No. 9256/49. Class 40 (viii). An electric resonator comprises two reflectors 1 and 3 with a dielectric rod 9 connecting them, the latter having a maximum cross sectional dimension of less than one wavelength of the oscillations within the rod at the resonant frequency. The rod is provided with extensions 11 and 13 coupled with input and output waveguides 15 and 17. The reflectors may be composed of plate glass with a silvered surface. The resonator may be used as the standard in a frequency control system.
