[Class 65 (i)] A stay for a door or the like which comprises a link f pivotally connected to one of the hinged parts and provided with a pin slidably engaged with a slot b formed in a bar a mounted on the other hinged part, is characterised in that the pin is formed with an enlarged head h, and the slotted bar carries a resilient clip or jaw l adapted to receive and retain said head when the door has been opened to a predetermined angular position. A spring mounted under the head presses a slipper against the slotted bar. An enlargement c of the slot enables the pin to be disengaged from the bar. The pivotal connection for the link is formed by a ball and socket joint.
