865,906. Stays for hinged articles. BENGTSSON, S. W. Dec. 10, 1959, No. 42018/59. Class 65(1). A stay bar 9 slidably received in a fitting for attachment to a window sash 17 is engaged by means of a pin 8 in a bearing hole 6 in at least one of the shanks 4 of a forked bracket for attachment to the window frame 18, at least one of the shanks being somewhat resilient and at least one of them having a groove 7 for facilitating mounting or dismounting of the pin in the bearing hole. Preferably the bracket is made of plastic material. The stay bar extends through a channel or hole in a member 12 pivotally attached to a base-plate 10 for attachment to the sash 17, and is clamped therein by a screw 15. A second pin 16 similar to the pin 8 is formed at the other end of the stay bar and limits the extent of opening of the window. Preferably the' pins 8, 16 are formed on opposite sides of the bar.
