Abstract
866,749. Stays for hinged articles. DRYAD METAL WORKS Ltd. March 3, 1959 [March 10, 1958], No. 7606/58. Class 65(1). A combined stay and fastening for a window or the like comprises an arm 6 pivoted to the window 1 and provided with a pivoted extension 9 and a member 10 fixed to the window frame 2, the arm having a chamfered groove 13 which co-operates with a correspondingly chamfered cam edge 12 on a tongue 11 of the member 10 whereby the window may be tightened against the frame. The extension 9 has one or more studs 16 projecting downwardly therefrom to engage a socket 17 in the tongue 11 to hold the window open. When the window is closed a padlock or the like may be secured through the socket 17.
