Abstract

901,288. Stays. WHEELDON & SONS Ltd., JAMES, and WHEELDON, A. L. D. March 7, 1961 [Dec. 17, 1959], No. 42928/59. Class 65 (1). A casement stay comprises an arm 10 adapted to be secured at one end to the casement 22 and slidable in a retaining arch provided on a fastening-plate 24 carrying a pin 27 engageable with holes 11 in the arm, the arch consisting of a pair of lugs 25 offset from one another on opposite sides of the fastening plate and connected by a strip 26 and the arm having an enlargement 12 at its free end to prevent disengagement of the arm from the arch. The arm can be separated from the arch when the means securing either of them to the casement or frame is released. An additional upstanding lug may be provided on the plate 24 to lock the casement in its closed position.
