Abstract

944,074. Stays. WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd. Jan. 3, 1962 [Jan. 13, 1961], No. 1473/61. Heading E2F. A stay arm 10 which is pivotally connected at one end to one of two parts comprising a hinged door and its associated supporting structure and which extends through a slot 15 formed in the other of said parts is provided on one side with a cam surface 20 adapted to engage with an abutment 21 as the door is opened so as to displace the arm about its pivot and stress resilient means 18 mounted in said other part, the resilient means acting on the arm through the intermediary of a bar 16 in slidable engagement with the other side of the arm and the abutment being engageable in a recess when the door is fully opened to retain the door releasably in the open position. The recess is formed between a further cam surface 23 and the free end of the arm which carries a resilient buffer 24. In an alternative arrangement the abutment is formed on the arm and the cam surface on the other part.
