Abstract

1369182 Latches ARN KIEKERT SOHNE 2 March 1973 [8 March 1972 18 April 1972] 10200/73 Heading E2A A vehicle door latch comprises a U-shaped housing having an end wall 1 and lateral arms 2 a cover plate 3 attached to the arms, a forked latch bolt having two arms 5, 6 pivoting on the housing on a pivot pin 4 supported in bearings in the cover plate and in the end wall of the housing, a detent 8 pivotally mounted in bearings in the end wall and the cover plate for retaining the bolt resilient guide parts 9, 10 fastened to the arms for receiving a striker pin 12 which is inserted in a slot 11 in the end wall when the door closes and turns the bolt, the guide parts guiding the striker pin during its movement to fastening position, the striker pin making contact only with the arms of the bolt during the movement. The guide parts 9, 10 fit into the housing and retain rubber buffers 15. The guide parts may be integral and may support only one buffer. A further buffer 17 may be between the guide parts. An apron 16 on the guide part 10 may close the housing to one side of the bolt and provide bearings for the detent pivot and prevent entry of a picking tool.
