Abstract

1505455 Bolts F HESTERBERG & SOHNE 30 Jan 1976 [1 Feb 1975] 03784/76 Addition to 1420587 Heading E2A A bolt 4 slides in a channel formed in a housing 3. An extension 19 of the bolt is linked by pivot 6 to one arm 5 of a toggle, the other arm 8 being attached by pivot 10 to the housing. Arm 5 forms a handle, pulling or pushing which causes bolt 4 to slide and head 18 to engage or disengage with keeper 20. Spring clip 15 is provided to hold the toggle arm in the closed position (Fig. 5). To provide additional security, a screw 24 carrying either a pin 25 or a cam can be used. Tightening this screw causes the cam- or, as shown, the pin 25-to bear on the clip and prevent the release of handle 5. Instead of connecting arm 5 to an extension 19 integral with the bolt, rods may be provided to link pivot 6 to a pin provided on the bolt (Figs. 3, 4 not shown). Bevels on the bolt head 18 and keeper 20 provided a camming action to assist closing. Others forms of bolt-head such as an eyelet or a claw may be used.
