Abstract
1493274 Rotary keepers FICHET-BAUCHE 21 July 1975 [6 Aug 1974] 30434/75 Heading E2A A rotary keeper, mounted for instance on a door jamb, cooperates with a rotary bolt on the door to effect a tight seal. The rotary keeper 145 is mounted on a member 113 which can slide along passages 108, 109 of stationary mounting 102. Link 117 is pivoted to mounting 102 at 118 and to the keeper by pivot 153. Bolt p is inserted into the keeper 145 until its end t forces ball 141 back against spring 137 so that the end 139 of plunger 136 is outside the passage of the keeper 145. This permits the keeper to be rotated by a handle with the bolt p. Such rotation causes the member 113 to slide towards the mounting 102, thus pulling the door, via bolt p, tightly against the jamb (Fig. 9). To open, the bolt is rotated in the reverse direction so that springs 121, 122 can push member 113 away from mounting 102. The bolt is rotated until the position of Fig. 1 is regained and then removed, allowing plunger 136 to re-engage keeper 145.
