[Class 37] Relates to a power factor meter or synchroscope having two or more iron elements 1 mounted on a common shaft 2 and each energized by a corresponding winding 3, the whole assembly being in a magnetic field created by further windings 4 ; according to the invention, the windings 4 are wound on a common annular core 5, the assembly 1, 2, 3 being located within the core. For polyphase working, each coil 1 and each coil 4 is energized by a different phase.
