Abstract

A ferrous alloy having high strength at high temperatures has the following composition: C 0.01-0.30 per cent, Cr 15.0-25.0 per cent, Ni 8.0-20.0 per cent, Ti 1.0-3.0 per cent, Co lower than 20 per cent, Fe the remainder. The alloy may also contain up to 5 per cent of Mo or W. A heat treatment is referred to which involves heating at 2012 DEG F., water cooling and then heating for 30 hours at 1292 DEG F.
