Abstract

630,569. Powder distributers. FLATABO, R. Oct. 26, 1946, No. 31846. Convention date, April 11. [Class 18] [Also in Group XXIX] A syringe or spreader for powders or liquids is characterized in that a pump 1 or pressure gas container or a combination of both is provided with a lid shaped plate member 6 for enabling operative association with either a powder container or a liquid container having an ejector tube or nozzle. As shown in Fig. 1 the pump 1 is closed by the plate member 6 of greater diameter than the pump cylinder and having a central outlet hole 5 in front of which is a non-return valve housed in a member 7. The pump may be fixed to a powder container 10 through which extends a tube 11, the wall of which is provided with perforations 12. The plate member 6 acts as a lid for the container 10 which communicates with a tapered outlet 14, having an adjustable nozzle 15, 16. The member 7 extends into the tube 11 and forms a tight junction therebetween. When used for liquid spraying the pump is attached to a liquid container 18, having an ejector tube 19, by inserting the outlet member 7 into a conical sleeve 20 secured to the cover of the container by a fixture 21. The pump is locked to the container by means of a bayonet joint, the edge of the sleeve 20 having lugs 22 engaging lugs 23 on the plate member 6. The sprayer may be provided with a pressure container.
