Abstract
439,218. Teeth-cleaning appliances. SPARKLETS, Ltd., and BREWER, W., Prana Works, Angel Road, Edmonton, London. Dec. 14, 1934, No. 35923. [Class 131] [See also Group VI] A device for spraying a small quantity of medicament, dentifrice, &c. is provided for attachment to portable apparatus of the kind normally used for spraying a relatively large quantity of liquid, such as that described in Specification 392,433, in which capsules are used to supply gas under pressure. A vessel 2 is adapted to be screwed into a closure 1, a washer 21 ensuring a gas tight joint. The closure 1 is provided with inlet and outlet passages 9, 14 and tubes 4, 17. The tube 4 is adapted to be connected to the outlet of the spraying - apparatus by a union-nut 5, and has a tapered spigot 12 to make a gas-tight connection with the outlet. The tube 17 is detachably secured to an outlet socket 15 by a union-nut 16, and carries an interchangeable spray nozzle 18. The vessel may be filled with a medicinal fluid or a volatile solid, or an absorbent pad 3 at the bottom may be soaked in the fluid if it is volatile. The container of the spraying-apparatus is emptied and acts simply as a gas chamber, so that, when the release lever is depressed, gas under pressure passes into the vessel 2 and forces the contents through a siphon tube 13 to the spray nozzle 18.
