Abstract

649,506. Powder distributers. NICOLLE, C. Sept. 16, 1946, No. 27702. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1944. [Class 18] A container, from which powder can be sprinkled or blown, comprises a cylinder 1 of cellulose acetate or like plastic material having a perforated disc at one end for sprinkling purposes and a tube 4 extending into the container whereby powder can be ejected by pressing the wall of the container. The tube 4 may extend through a hole provided therefor in the apertured end 3 as in Fig. 1 or through the opposite end as in Fig. 15 and a removable cover 6 with or without a bayonet slot connection may be provided for the sprinkling end when not in use. Alternatively, the cover may be in the form of a disc fixed to or rotatably mounted on the tube and provided with lugs to engage the apertures in disc 3 or with holes that can be aligned with those of the disc for sprinkling purposes. Where a rotatable apertured cover is provided, it may be fixed to the tube 4 on the inside or outside of the disc 3 and axial movement prevented by a collar 12<SP>1</SP> on the tube, Fig. 11 (not shown) or by the inwardly curved edges of the cylinder 1, or it may be rotatably mounted on the tube 4 between a collar and the disc 3. Alternatively a cover 6 with tube 4 attached may have a screw thread engagement with the disc, as shown in Fig. 7. The container may be formed by sticking together two recessed plastic sheets as in Specification 658,733.
