Abstract

630,069. Velocity-modulated tubes. SPERRY GYROSCOPE CO., Inc. June 28, 1945, No. 16457. Convention date, June 28, 1944. [Class 39 (i)] A double-resonator velocity modulation tube has an extensible drift tube interconnecting the two resonators whereby the length of the drift space may be varied without altering the tuning of the resonators themselves. The extensible drift tube comprises two parts 38, 41 jointed together by a flexible diaphragm 42, and whose distance apart may be varied by means of a set of screws 47 located between disc 39 fixed to part 38, and disc 31 fixed to part 41. Resonator 16 is tunable by means of a set of screws 45 located between the resonator wall 15 and disc 39, and resonator 28 is separately tunable by means of screws 451. Specification 523,712 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the subject-matter of Specification 630,110. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
