Abstract

626,009. Combustion chambers. COLMO, E. May 9, 1947, No. 12631. Convention date, Nov. 11, 1944. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] In a cylinder having a rotary sleeve-valve 2, the combustion chamber is restricted, by the close approach of the piston to the cylinder head, to a clearance adjacent the ports 7 which are controlled by a single port in the sleeve valve ; high and. narrow ports are thus possible giving rapid opening and closing. The sparking plug is placed near the exhaust port. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also details of port dimensions and timing, and a modification having a head extension between the ports is described. The sparking plug may be placed axial. This subject-matter does, not appear in the Specification as accepted.
