622,797. Solid-fuel stoves. CASSELS, W. T. April 10, 1947, No. 9570. [Class 126] A solid fuel stove comprises a firebox B provided with a grate C consisting of tubes C<SP>1</SP> connected with a source of air supply, a fuel preheating chamber A arranged above the firebox and a separate chamber G for conveying the gases of combustion from the firebox to the smokebox I and the flue. Air from outside the room enters aperture L and flows to the tubes C\ and thence through the firebox, or to ducts M and outlets O, the supply to the firebox being controlled by adjustable shutters F and F<SP>1</SP>. A slidable damper K is provided to form a vent from the chamber A to the smokebox. Refuelling of this chamber is effected by sliding the hood H downwards thereby exposing the aperture J. The effective area of the firebed is controlled by a hollow shelf E adapted to slide in and out of the firebox.
