Abstract

620,171. Sawing. STEWARD, W. Sept. 17, 1946, No. 27859. [Class 145(ii)] A sawbench attachment for a tractor 10 comprises a pair of rigid side members 12 attached by cross member 13 to the draw bar bracket 15 of the tractor and to brackets 17 carried by the front column of the tractor said side members supporting the sawtable 19 cantilever fashion. A rotatable shaft 23 carries a saw blade 25, and means for driving said shaft comprise pulleys 11, 24 and belt 26, the pulley 11 being driven by the tractor engine. The bench is provided with movable legs 29 preferably pivoted to the bench, giving additional support for heavy or continuous work, and a guard plate 27 forming a support for a long starting handle.
