Abstract

618,762. Outlets. MINIMAX, Ltd., YOUNG, A., and YOUNG, E. F. April 8, 1946, No. 12539/48. Divided out of 618,676, [Group VI]. [Class 135] A splash - preventing nozzle for drawing off steam and hot water from a boiler or the like comprises inner and outer concentric cylinders 4, 5, steam and hot water being fed to the inner cylinder where the steam is separated from the hot water which passes out directly from the inner cylinder 4 whilst steam issues from the space between the cylinders. The cylinders are secured to a delivery pipe 1 having a nozzle 2 by a head member 7 with a threaded flange 6. A ring of apertures 12 are arranged above the nozzle 2. The inner cylinder 4 has a perforate thick plate 13 which serves to separate the steam and hot water, and a conical nozzle 9 with a restricted bore 11. The outer cylinder 5 carries a conical cap 8 embracing the nozzle 9 to form a converging annular space 10.
