Abstract

520,647. Steam desuperheaters. GRAHAM, D. A., and AULD & SONS, Ltd., D. Oct. 27, 1938, No. 31076. [Class 55 (ii)] In apparatus for desuperheating steam by spraying water through the seating of a steam valve loaded to maintain the velocity of the steam as described in Specifications 498,083 and 520,109, the water is sprayed from a narrow annular passage formed around the valve seating 11 by an annular sleeve 16. Water is supplied to the passage through holes 19 in the sleeve. The valve is of the kind described in Specification 512,818, [Group XXIX].
