Abstract

491,838. Making foam. KOMET KOMPAGNIE FUR OPTIK MECHANIK UND ELEKTRO-TECHNIK GES. April 11, 1938, No. 11095. Convention. date, April 10, 1937. [Class 47 (ii)] In an apparatus for making air foam of the kind comprising a tube 1 and two or more inclined jet nozzles 3 which deliver jets of liquid that intersect on the axis of the tube and entrain air, the outlets of the nozzles lie close to the axis of the tube or actually merge into one another, so that the jets of liquid intersect immediately at or close to the outlets of the nozzles. The nozzles are formed as bores in a plug member 2 and are controlled by a rotary disc valve 9 operated by a ring 11 and handle 12. Air is drawn into the tube 1 through ports 4, and a funnel-shaped member 5 is arranged within the tube to form an annular air passage 6 about the nozzles. An additional supply of air is drawn in through ports 8, 7. Specifications 403,291 and 424,995 are referred to.
