Abstract
623,269. Spray-producers. PEEPS, D. J. April 22, 1947, No. 10790. Convention date, May 15, 1941. [Class 69 (iii)] A method of atomizing and producing a spray stream of fan shape comprises the discharging of a stream of material and air 12, Fig. 2, through concentric ports 2 and 3 respectively, Fig. 1, striking the stream at an acute angle near its source with opposed atomizing air jets 18 from ports 8, discharging opposing air jets 19 from ports 9 along paths substantially parallel to the axis of the central stream, and shaping the main stream by sets of opposing jets 15, 16 and 17 from ports 5, 6 and 7. Alternatively, ports 6 may be removed, and each port 9 replaced by two closely adjacent ports, each pair emitting slightly converging jets substantially parallel to the main stream.
