Abstract

618,005. Locking levers. BOULTON PAUL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and BATCHELOR, J. W. Oct. 12, 1946, No. 30472. [Class 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] In a multiple lever control system such as a dual control system for aircraft, each control lever 1 has a handle portion 8 pivoted thereto at 7 and laterally projecting pins 10, 11 for co-operating with stops 5, 6 respectively. When no force is applied to the handle 8 it is maintained in a central position by springs 9, 9a in which the pins 10, 11 ride clear of the stops 5, 6 on the lever 1 being actuated by another control member. When an operating force is applied to the handle, however, it is tilted against one of the springs 9 or 9a and the pin 10 or 11 comes into contact with the stop 5 or 6 to prevent or limit the movement until a further operation such as moving the lever laterally as in a gate 4 is effected.
