Abstract
898,937. Shoots. BARKER & SONS Ltd., THOMAS, COXON, G. L., and PARRY, J. H. July 5, 1960 [Sept. 11, 1959], No. 30993/59. Class 78 (1). A deflector 5, Fig. 1, controlling the alternate direction of successive articles such as dough pieces to one end and the other of two channels is pivotally mounted on a shaft 14 which is resiliently supported for downward displacement in response to the impact of an article on the deflector and which carries an arm 23 for co-operation with a fixed detent 30 to lock the shaft in one or other of the extreme positions of the deflector until released by the said downward displacement. The resilient shaft-supporting means is a spring 27, Fig. 2, which acts on a block 21 containing the shaft bearing 20, the block being guided for vertical movement by fixed studs 25 (Fig. 3, not shown) and cooperating clearance holes in the block. The arm 23 rotates with the shaft, the load on the deflector causing the latter to be depressed so that a formation 33 at the free end of arm 23 clears the detent 30, to be subsequently locked thereby in one extreme position of the arm 23 and deflector 5 when the oad is released.
