Vehicle door fastening actuating mechanism comprises an operating member 10, a mounting member 11 and a pivotable arm, the operating member being mounted for bodily movement relative to the mounting member and being connected to the pivotable arm at or adjacent one end of the latter so as to be pivotable relative thereto about a first pivotal axis, the arm being connected adjacent its opposite end (to the mounting member 11) so as to be pivotable relative thereto about a second pivotal axis which is parallel to the first pivotal axis, the mechanism being connected or adapted to be connected to one end of a link 19 which is connected at its other end to a door fastening, the arrangement being such that the operating member 10 can be moved to displace the link 19 and operate the door fastening, said operating member being guided in its movement by the pivotable arm: A pin 18 connects the link 19 to the member 10 and moves in a slot 17 in the mounting member, the shape of the slot being determined by the movement of the ends of arms 12 and 13 to which the operating member is pivoted. The two arms may be mounted on opposite sides of the operating member.
