Abstract

589,794. Wrenches &c. PENNANT MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and GREW, C. April 6, 1945, No. 8500. [Class 61 (iii)] A tommy-bar 18 for turning a spanner &c. is adapted to be locked in the operative position or inoperative position shown by means of a pin 20 which is seated in one of the two grooves 19. A spring 24 holds the pin in the groove. In a modification, a spring-pressed plunger coacts with holes in the tommy-bar to lock it as above. In other modifications, a pin passing transversely through the boss 14 is provided with a flat which when in position allows the tommy-bar to move, and when moved out of position, that is, when the flat no longer is opposite the tommy-bar, locks the tommy-bar in one of two positions as above.
