Abstract

611,784. Endless-chain conveyers. RHODES, C. H. May 8, 1946, No. 13914. [Class 78 (i)] Apparatus for loading and conveying materials comprises an articulated endless conveyer mounted on an articulated wheeled unit which is trailed by a tractor vehicle. The articulated unit 13 comprises trough-shaped bogies 14, Fig. 2, mounted on wheels 16 and having pivotal connections 15. The conveyer 12 may be driven from the tractor 10 or from an independent driving unit. At the outside of the bend an inturned overhead flange 22 is provided to prevent the outside wheels from leaving the track. The conveyer 12, Fig. 3, is of the chain type having built-up links 25 pivotally connected together about a vertical pivot pin 24, the members of each link being pivotally connected about a horizontal pivot pin 26 provided with rollers 27, 28 for riding upon the vertical walls and the bottom respectively of the bogies 14.
