Abstract

609,630. Electric cables. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and TUPPEN, A. E. March 19, 1946, No. 8499. [Class 36] An identification ferrule for attachment to electric cables comprises a hollow sleeve 1 with a flange 3 at one end, rings or collars 4 being provided, each bearing indicating characteristics, and adapted to be slipped on to the sleeve 1 and retained firmly in place. For this purpose the sleeve 1 may have longitudinal ribs, with corresponding grooves in the rings 4. The conductor wire 6 passes through a hole in the flange 3 and the space between the flange and the end of the cable is filled with a sealing compound 7. The sleeve 1 may be of slightly conical shape to facilitate ejection from the mould in which it is made.
